The National Bush League (NBL) is an online American Football league formed in 2004, using Sierra's Football Pro '98. In the NBL, owners run all operations - including drafting, player contracts, trades, roster management, and hiring/firing head coaches and coordinators.
All human owned games are streamed each week for our owners to view, scout, or simply just enjoy the fruits of their labor.
NBL Draft: Our drafts are based on real life players, using real life combine numbers. However, don't count on the best players in the NFL being the best players in the NBL...our players have their own work habits.
Player Ratings: NBL player ratings are based on real life numbers. The fastest player at the real-life NFL combine will be the fastest player in our NBL Draft. The player who ran the best 3-cone drill will have the best agility, and the player who did the most bench press reps will be the strongest!
Coaches: Each human owner has their pick of real-life coaching candidates - head coach, a defensive coordinator, and an offensive coordinator. Each coach has their own random rating that directly elevates or reduces the ratings of the players on their team.
Everything You Need Online: Our owners need only have access to the internet. All functionality is done online through our website and team page.
NBL Calendar: Since many of our owners are real-life coaches, the NBL works opposite of the real life football calendar. Our season starts in mid-December and ends in mid-May of each year. Our off-season is real-life 6 month off-season.
Time Requirements: During the off-season (May-December), the NBL does not require any time. If owners want to prepare for the annual December draft or plan their playbooks, those are optional activities. In-Season requires as little as 10 minutes per week, or as much time as you want to put in (scouting free agents, game planning and creating plays for upcoming opponents, watching your team on game day, etc). The games last about one hour and can be watched at your convenience via YouTube.
Interested in Joining Us?
To join the NBL, each prospective owner will purchase a franchise for a one-time $20 (a 1.999 Billion Discount off of a real life franchise!), and pay a seasonal fee of $50. All monies are paid to the Super Bowl winner.
